Re-invent Newcastle

As a long term resident of Newcastle, it is a frustrating reality to live with the slow death of the Central Business District.
As a child in the 80's it was a real thrill to go to the movies "in town" and have a milkshake and maybe a kiss and a smoke with some girl from Edgeworth.
Now, with a pram and two daughters under three, we seek out the CBD as a child friendly area and walk around thinking about what could have been.
As a property owner, who has paid market odds for the convenience of living in the inner suburbs, I expect and feel entitled to have a proportionate say in what evolves with the antiquated rail line - and all of us agree, of course, it must go. How long until...
